Goan Prawn Chilli Fry

Instructions
 

  • Marinate prawns with salt, lemon juice and turmeric powder. Keep it aside. Let it marinate for 10 mins.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add the sliced onions. Fry for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  • Add in chopped ginger, garlic and slit green chillies. Fry until the raw smell of ginger garlic disappears.
  • Once the onions are caramelised, add in the tomatoes. Fry for 2-3 mins. Don’t let the tomatoes go too mushy.
  • Add in the marinated prawns. Adjust the salt according to your taste. Add a little water and let it cook over a medium flame.
  • Add the red chilli powder and turmeric powder. Continue to stir-fry on a medium to high flame until the prawns are almost cooked.
  • Add the garam masala. Turn off the flame.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander. Enjoy!

Notes

Do not overcook the prawns.
I prefer using small-sized prawns for this recipe , as they tends to bring out a nice flavour to the dish.
