A quick and easy seafood recipe with fresh prawns, onions, tomatoes, green chillies, garlic and everyday spices loaded with flavour. It’s simple to make, requires few ingredients and is perfect for busy weeknights and family dinners.
Unlike rich curries or elaborate festive dishes, Prawns Chilli Fry is all about bringing out the natural sweetness of the prawns. The prawns are beautifully coated in a simple masala made with fresh ingredients, resulting in a dry-style dish that’s light, comforting and incredibly satisfying.
Seafood has always been a staple of Goan cuisine, and prawns are one of the most popular ingredients found in the kitchens of the coast. This was one of the recipes I looked forward to most while growing up in Goa. My mother made it with whatever she had in the kitchen – fresh onions, tomatoes, green chillies, garlic and some basic spices. No complicated techniques, no lengthy preparation, and the result was always delicious. This recipe comes together within 30 minutes, making it a perfect lunch box recipe for school, college and office meals. This quick one-pan seafood dish is easy to prepare and perfect for busy mornings and hectic weekdays. Follow the step-by-step instructions and enjoy a homemade Goan classic that’s easy, authentic and full of flavour.
