Goan Serradura Pudding

Serradura is a no-bake Goan-style dessert with creamy layers of whipped cream and crushed biscuits, a blend of Portuguese heritage and local dessert traditions. Here is an easy recipe you will love with a cashew twist.

Some desserts never go out of trend, and Serradura is one of them. This creamy layered dessert originated in Portugal and was introduced to Goa by the Portuguese. It’s become a statewide favourite over the years for its rich yet light texture and simple ingredients.

Today, Goan Serradura is part of family celebrations, festive occasions, cafes, and restaurants, and is one of the most loved desserts in the region.

Serradura needs no baking and very few ingredients, yet produces luxurious layers of silky cream and buttery biscuit crumbs. In the warm tropical climate of Goa, a chill dessert like serradura quickly caught on. Its simplicity is what makes it special. Every layer tells a story. The airy whipped cream is light. The crushed biscuits add texture and warmth. Together they create a dessert that is comforting, elegant, and irresistible.
This Serradura recipe features a delightful cashew twist in it. The crumb layer has a rich and nutty texture from a handful of cashew nuts blended with the digestive biscuits.
